‘Be Kind Collection’

The idea of the ‘Be Kind’ collection came from Nellie and I after just releasing ‘Kia Hāpai, Kia Ngāwari’ we decided we wanted to create more on the clothing line side of TKP. Although “Raise Kind Humans’ and ‘Kia Hāpai, Kia Ngāwari’ were our babies, we wanted to go further.

‘Be Kind’ was created with the aim of creating clothing that encourages people to be kind whilst being in trend. After many mood boards and evaluating our stakeholder feedback, we created ‘Be Kind’.

From this we have made a few changes to this drop, first with the style of the hoodie we have chosen. We have gone with a more relaxed oversized fit. Which fits with the trend of many styles of hoodies we see today. We also have both women and mens fitting clothes. So you can choose the one your heart desires, instead of one style fitting kākahu.

This drop is embroidered instead of screen printed, this adding to the longevity of our kākahu here at TKP.

In terms of the design of this drop, the simplicity of the main logo ‘Be Kind.’ came from the idea of encouraging people to be kind as such but in a non-confronting way. A gentle reminder if you will.

On the sleeve of our ‘Be Kind’ hoodie we have the reminder to also ‘be kind to yourself’. Something that we forget as humans to not only be kind to others but ourselves as well.

We are so excited to share this drop with everyone, a day we have been waiting for. We hope it encourages you and others who see it to be kind.
